We are a community of Orthodox Christian believers settled in the heart of the ‘High Country’ of northwest North Carolina. Our mission is no less than the Great Commission spoken to the Apostles before the Ascension of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ:
And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age. Amen” Matthew 28:18-20
As adherents of the Orthodox Christian faith, we seek to bring the Gospel, the good news, to our local community and to the world by living out the commandments of our Lord and participating in the sacramental life of the Orthodox Church. We are a committed and diverse group who live, work, pray, and break bread together as a witness and testimony to a life lived in Christ. We proclaim and affirm the Incarnation of the Logos, Jesus Christ, His sinless life, His trampling down death by His own death, His glorious Resurrection, His Ascension to the right hand of the Father, and His second and glorious Coming. The Orthodox Church humbly proclaims to be the Church of Christ in the world, teaching and proclaiming as boldly today as yesterday and throughout history, the timeless Truth of Christ and His Church.
